Horace Bing is the sweet and handsome telegraph operator in Colorado Springs. During season one he develops a romance with Myra, a prostitute in the employ of Hank Lawson, and they later get engaged ("The Great American Medicine Show"). In season two, after being assaulted by a customer, Myra rips up her contract with Hank, and the couple celebrate their official engagement, something they could not do while Myra was working for Hank ("The Campaign", "The Man in the Moon"). The couple gets married, and together they have a daughter, Samantha. Myra later accepts a job from Preston to work as a bank teller. The couple separate, Myra leaving with their daughter, and they ultimately divorce.
