Sanctuary is the second episode of Season 2 of Dr. Quinn: Medicine Woman and the nineteenth episode of the series.
Dorothy Jennings shows up at Loren's, her brother in law, after finally leaving her abusive husband. The same husband she is then accused of killing.
Cheyenne tradition dictates that Cloud Dancing must marry the widow of his late brother, and Snow Bird moves out of their tent in protest.
Information[]
- Character reference: Rebecca Dickinson. She is the oldest of the Quinn girls. She and Dr. Mike were close until Rebecca married.
- First appearance of Dorothy Jennings.
- Dr. Mike exhumes and performs an autopsy on Marcus Jennings with permission from Dorothy.
- Character reference: Maude Bray. Loren's wife was the sister of Dorothy Jennings. Dorothy learned of Maude's death two months afterwards from a letter Loren had written her. The letter was kept from her by Marcus. Loren asked Dorothy to marry him first before asking Maude, but didn't marry him because she was in love with Marcus and believe Marcus would "go somewhere" (improve his life standing).
- Snow Bird says she was influenced by Dr. Mike, who lives without a husband, to move out.
