Law of the Land
The Visitor is the third episode of Season 1 of Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman.
Mrs. Elizabeth Quinn, mother of Dr. Mike, make an unexpected visit to Colorado Springs. At first, she keeps the same disapproving attitude towards Dr. Mike that she's had for years. Eventually she realizes the mistake she's made. Meanwhile, Dr. Mike is faced with possibly losing the clinic she's opened in the forclosed boarding house of the late Charlotte Cooper when Jedediah Bancroft, a banker at The First National Bank of Denver comes to town to sell it.
- Mrs. Quinn's trip from Boston took 7 days by rail, 6 days of waiting in St. Louis, & 5 days by stage.
- Jedediah takes back the foreclosed boarding house Dr. Mike has been using as a clinic & is hesitant to sell to Dr. Mike. This episode marks Jedediah's first appearance on the show, and the first mention of the Bank of Denver.
- Mrs. Quinn comes because she heard that Dr. Mike was very sick. She sees how much the town needs a doctor & changes her mind about Dr. Mike's doctoring abilities.
